It's getting chillier by the day here in North Carolina! The weather here is so unpredictable... we've been known to have blue skies and seventy-five degree temps in mid-December, but this year, it seems as though we're having a real fall season. I love this, because I love fall, and when we have an actual fall here, we're much more likely to have an actual winter, too!
I am still trying to get the hang of dressing Balian appropriately for the cooler weather. Some days, a light jacket will do the trick, but if we have to be out early in the mornings when it's down right cold, a heavier coat and a hat is a definite must! I recently had the opportunity to work with Kelly Wolfe, who owns Cozy Creations Crochet. I know what you must be thinking when you hear crochet... baby blankets and maybe even your grandmother comes to mind! Crocheting has come a long way through the years, and Kelly's work proves that!

We were lucky enough to get to pick whichever hat we wanted from Cozy Creations Crochet, which was really fun! I decided to go with a hat for Balian, because he has outgrown his newborn hats from last winter (ya think!?). It was really hard to narrow it down to just one hat, though! Kelly has created so many cute crocheted hats that Balian's going to want them all (I mean- I am going to want to buy all of them for him.)! After careful consideration, I chose Kelly's adorable Oscar the Grouch Crocheted Hat for my little stinker! It's all too fitting... like most little ones, Balian has a cranky time of day or two, so we often call him our little grouch.

The hat is a little big yet for Balian, but it is nice and warm, and Balian loves wearing it/playing with it! Balian wore his hat to the park just a few days ago, and we had people stopping us to ask where we got such a cute hat! It's a conversation starter, for sure! I think those big googly eyes catch everyone by surprise! I'm happy to have this crocheted hat in Balian's winter gear collection, because we're heading out to Tulsa, OK to visit Aunt Britt after Christmas, and there's no telling what kind of rough winter weather we might run into while we're there! Oscar will surely keep Balian nice and toasty well into his toddler years... now that's something moms everywhere can be happy about- a hat that'll last a while! The hat can be stretched, but it doesn't stretch out when pulled on. Gotta love that durability! We're having a ball with Oscar, and I have a feeling you might have a ball with one of Kelly's hats, too!
